What do the critics of art?
"In the increasingly extensive and deep territory of visual art is abstraction, as figurative, its own language, fruitful and inalienable: expressions, which are basically another form of communication and geometric compositions comprising or counterpoints of ranges, or bursts free of the encounter between feelings, sensations, thoughts, fantasies. Leonardo Yosovitch, eminent artist and honest and strong and great lord of the line and paint, amply demonstrated with its bright and neat work. In a safe and accurate language that knows no redundancies but harmony and brevity, each time reaching the goal of superior quality and very high musicality and poetry, key his universe
"César Magrini. Editor and Art Critic"
When paraded before me the works of Leonardo Yosovitch, asked if he had Russian ancestors, to which she replied affirmatively: "on all sides." As I reported all four grandparents came from Odessa regiónde while his mother was born in Romania near the border. The question was not idle. When I saw the works of Yosovitch came to my mind a show organized by Marcelo De Ridder in what was the Institute of Modern Art, the predecessor of our Museum of Modern Art, the Russian artist Pavel Tchelicheff. Genes do not suggest that there are pictorial, but a living environment at an early age, to be more graphic, "sucked" from the beginning, of course it has its influence on the child's unconscious which is then Yosovitch Leonardo, the painter. The other aftista Lunic with which I find a kinship is with the range and colorful richness of the first stage of Joan Miró. This Leonardo had the best of training, as was that identified the painting with that name, that is, the workshop of a great teacher. So that Leonardo to paint a picture Angen in the baptism of his master Verrocchio, Leonardo and so this had the good fortune to end up with the workshop of master Eduardo MacEntyre as they both live in the neighborhood of barracks, near the Avenida Montes de Oca. Yosovitch impressed me the strength of his drawings and his drawing . The fabrics are very net forms marked by large plastic emphasized by spirited colors that run the gamut of the spectrum with the ease of the masters. This is not surprising, Leonardo has 45 years and it suggests that the large post-impressionism, Van Gogh, Seurat and Toulouse, died before 40. The most difficult task for the critic is to Yosovitch pigeonhole into one of the styles known. It does not seem coincidental that both looked Tchelicheff as both belonged to the surrealist school. But I seem incomplete in this case a definition of similar tenor. although subconcscinete and the unconscious are present, despite the combination of figurative elements such as faces or hands that seem to be in the process of metamorphosis, the end result of their combination leads us down the path of a powerful imagination. Imaginative, visionary, the world of the artist beyond the confines of surrealism , without actually entering the realism that can define it as such. Space navigator and coloristic fluidity formal, after much thought, I dare say is a great romantic Yosovitch twentieth century. His gesture of the brush is about to start and Miguel Angel delight Mannerism. Its illustrious history, the project to a bright future Yosovitch "
Rafael Squirru art critic for the newspaper La Nacion
"The work of Leonardo Yosovitch is assigned by three major periods. The first figurative period where good sense to copy the great masters but with a very personal stamp. After this stage is one where venturing into the field of expressionism . On position, is set in the great expressionist masters and it happens that you can see, also in Europe the original works of the same. Leonardo starts with this huge task in the Expressionist camp, where color and shape are characterized by language social facts that they seal and deeply hurt by the events that happen in the world. Developing it with great strength and great colors that are then going to see in the remaining works to be addressed. After Leonardo expressionist stage a dazzling start to a very personal language, where fantasies, mostly, and romanticism, in his paintings, begins to appear and start to take over from him. Leonardo's painting, we could qualify in expressionism and a fantasy painting. Undoubtedly it is very difficult to classify because it has a very personal language. His work is very well built, very well armed. Start doing figurative work and then go searching through the tone, the subtlety of the same, the color assembly, construction is going to arming through what he feels, everything is a work not only apparently spontaneous but well organized mentally. The color is classic in Leonardo since its inception nothing more than this look is a little more orderly and appropriate to individual needs of the artist. "
